Spring Cleaning

When I was awake the next morning, could I see the chaos in the kitchen already from your bed. It looked like a lot of work.

All week I had diligently washed linen. Every day at least a machine. Not only our clothes and bed linen, but also curtains and the seat covers in the Salon shine again in new freshness.

Since it was very helpful, that our proven “Laundry Octopus” vor kurzem Verstärkung bekommen hatte 🙂

Three bags to store food in our Panry, must you really everything off- and again give. While you can clean the cabinets will also immediately :-).

But not only cleaning up today, I had made some creative work. On La Gomera I had make paper prints of many photos of the last year. So I wanted to beautify our bedroom.

From the many beautiful moments have I cobbled together a collage, jetzt seid Ihr alle immer mit dabei auf unserer Reise 🙂 Außerdem haben noch zwei andere Erinnerungen endlich einen festen Platz bei uns an Bord gefunden. Our “Hummel tile” from Porto found a nice spot in the pantry:

Und unser Kinderkunstwerk vom Capo Fincente in Portugal darf jetzt die Wand über meinem Kleiderschrank schmücken 🙂

Also, all wood surfaces were oiled and polished, Carpets vacuumed, Bathroom cleaning, the beds newly obtained, the closets ventilated and cleaned up and everything else, was man bei einem ordentlichen Frühjahrsputz so macht 🙂

Towards evening I but eventually got fed up and decided to, still a little trip to make. No ten kilometres from our port lies El Medano, a well-known surfing Beach. There I took my feet a little.

On the way back to the port, I stumbled upon a signpost, that led me to the Cueva del Hermano Pedro. The cave is the first Canary Saints is dedicated to. It is now right at the start- and Derrick of the airport. Some signal lamps are located in the Park of the cave.

Contrast program: a German shopping paradise and nature

An important item on my “to-do”-List, I wanted to do in my free time Husband, was the procurement of rye- bake and wholemeal spelled flour for bread. Not such an easy task, for these products is not found in a Spanish supermarket.

But in the age of the Internet remains an almost nothing hidden. Thus the German community in Tenerife was quite inspired by the “Cash & Carry” in Tacoronte. Said wonder supermarket was unfortunately very north of the island. Why exactly unfortunately? The National Park Anaga is but just around the corner and I wanted to make but still out. So why not combine both ?

Once in Tacoronte, I thought my eyes were not to be trusted. The list of the German brand name was impressively long and the prices were really fair. As I flew for the last time from Germany back to BUZZER, hatte ich eine zusätzliche Tasche mit Lebensmitteln dabei 🙂 Leckereien, you miss insane abroad on some days after a long time.

So this was sooner than I thought and three well-filled shopping bags wandered in my trunk. And the point “Get flour” konnte ich mit gutem Gewissen auf meiner Liste abhaken 🙂

First work…..before pleasure. On the narrow streets I wound through the National Park. This time, with much better weather and more time.

The view towards the center of the island was a dream. The white clouds seen on this picture yet very picturesque from. But they were fast approaching.

On the other hand, it was cloudy and cold

Although my shopping passion was pretty cool after the success of this morning, but there were still a few things on my shopping list.

Packed I reached San Miguel only about eight clock in the evening. After I had brought my purchases on the boat, I tried to wake up with a hot shower my spirits again.

Back to the SUMMER

Saturday it was finally over. Nearly four weeks had gone faster but the country than expected. At eight clock in the morning started my flight from Cologne / Bonn. Before classifying me in the line of security control, I bought another fresh whole wheat bread, one last gift from cold Germany.

For my return flight I had an extra 20 Account kilo excess baggage. This is much cheaper than a packet to send to the Canaries J and also safer and faster for Norwegian Airlines. The last week in Germany, I had not only used, prepare our tax return. Incidentally, I've worked a long shopping list. So I had beside appointed by Dietmar spare parts for our SUMMER following things in luggage: Six cans of white sausages, 2 Lecturer Ragout Fin, about two kilos soluble cappuccino in different flavors, various finished salad dressings and spices, about two kilos Nidegger marzipan (in different flavors :-)), wide range of medicines for all kinds of "aches and pains", an extensive selection from the current DVD bestseller list and various cosmetics, the woman urgently needs to survive :-). It is quite amazing, what things of everyday life one misses abroad as.

Time at half past eleven my plane landed in Tenerife. At the baggage claim, I could see my captain already outside waiting. My suitcase but had to wait a surprisingly long time coming, so that I was almost one of the last, which was finally able to leave the airport. Outside, I was finally able to then close my bearded sea dog in his arms again.

With the car we went back to our first SUMMER. After a brief survey was clear: Today was a good day for a bulk purchase. In the fridge, there was not yet a gaping void, aber der Anteil an frischen Lebensmitteln lag deutlich unter fünf Prozent 🙂

In the late afternoon we pulled Dietmar again on the kart track, to some Englishmen to miss a rubdown. Good, I was there again. It is a suitable photographer to document the heroic race victory was still urgently needed :-). And just as it was then. The second came Kart 59 Seconds after him to the finish.

Since we were already on the way anyway, then we made an excursion to La Galletas, to us to represent a bit of the feet. Despite the overcast sky, the weather was still pity on us and spared us from the rain, though it actually looked like the day after. Back to the SUMMER Dietmar was then treated with an ordinary, serves fresh dinner and had to leave the photos of the first two African-day pass over safely. As fast as the first day was over, back to our SUMMER.

The next two days were rainy and windy. Our excursion experiments under tied the weather by abundant rainfall duration. So we use the time, to store the goods brought to the orderly, reading and lounging. On Tuesday and Wednesday we were expecting a suitable weather window, to sail in two stages to La Palma. Until then, everything was supposed to be ready prepared.

Travel arrangements and slow "Einschaukeln"

Today should initially be the last day in the Marina Pasito Blanco. Just over a week now I was back on board and it was time, throw the ropes go again. But before standing again "make clear the decks" in the program. Many of the things brought from Germany were not put on the shelves and two cabinets were still waiting for a complete reorganization using the acquired yesterday at Ikea boxes. Also, I had made up my mind for the day, finally inaugurate the bread machine. For too long travels a good piece untested with us through the area. An end today!

So my day started after breakfast with the mission of "bread baking", while Dietmar out before our SUMMER freed from the many covers and made ready. Actually, baking bread quite simple but for my debut but I chose the safe side though a finished Bread Mix. After I filled water and mix into the machine, did marvel his work. Only knead, then let rise and bake finally. I peered in between some suspicious looking through the window. After nearly two hours I kept the result in my pot holders fixed. Clearly a bread! The shape was somewhat unusual, but the taste was impeccable.

In the meantime I had sorted the two Cabinets and granted. Fortunately, in this campaign was the missing mysteriously milk (at least six liters) resurfaced.

At the end of the preparations was set aside for vacuuming and an additional test, brought from Germany the vacuum bag for our clothes or other textiles, we do not need so often. Already a great invention. A short time later the bedding for our guests was bagged flat and space-saving. Another means, den knappen Platz an Bord optimal zu nutzen 🙂

About four clock then we threw as planned Cast off. For me it was the first challenge since my return, because we had not the same moored at a dock finger, but were fastened to the rear of two mooring canvas. But this challenge I mastered thanks to clear instructions by the skipper :-). Only an unusually loud noise from the propeller hurt our ears, Dietmar than the first time into reverse. Something was wrong. So a trouble! Luckily, we were still able to drive off without problems and headed towards the anchorage off the port. Here we wanted to provide the Night, so I could have a little "einschaukeln" before our first real day of sailing. After several unsuccessful attempts, then it succeeded Dietmar the boat ladder, which was attached to the anchor and with which we had come the last few weeks from the bridge on boat, remove from the anchor again.

Now we are here peacefully swinging in front of the beach of Pasito Blanco . Outside whistles the evening breeze and our wind generators make us much joy just right. The dive, we have to make, to investigate the strange sounds of the screw, we have moved to tomorrow. Let's see, what a surprise awaits us at the waterline of SUMMER. We'll keep you up to date.
