Neat Wind from behind – Day 2 nach Gran Canaria

Finally it went peppy in the right direction. In pleasant 15 Knots of wind we continued in the afternoon also the mainsail and ran with seven knots towards our goal.

Our Tiller was quite strained throughout the day. Again and again he got from ordinary seawater showers, he coped with not very good. So Dietmar had twice already need to replace a fuse after a short circuit. Particularly annoying was, that the Good simply silently quit the service, to give one last alarm signal from without yet. Go to Gran Canaria – Day 1

After more than six weeks of hard work our time in the Algarve is coming to an end. Much we did, but still a long way, not everything is perfect. Portugal wants to let her live us

Thus, we got the impression, dass uns Portugal einfach nicht ziehen lassen wollte 🙁 Aber auf die paar Tage kam es jetzt auch nicht mehr an und wir fügten uns in unser Schicksal.

Auch die Programmierung unseres AIS wollte am Samstag nicht im ersten Zug gelingen 🙁 und es stellt sich heraus, that a plug was defective. In order to keep the list of open work on Gran Canaria as low as possible, haben wir heute morgen noch einmal für zwei Tage ein Auto gemietet, denn Einkaufen kann man ja bekanntlich auch bei schlechtem Wetter. Und alle haltbaren Lebensmittel, die wir jetzt schon gebunkert haben, brauchen wir in Gran Canaria nicht mehr zu kaufen 🙂 So sind schon größere Vorräte an leckeren Obstsäften und Süßigkeiten unter Deck verstaut. Die muss ich nur noch vor dem Kapitän schützen 🙂 Nicht, dass ich auf den Kanaren wieder von vorne anfangen muss 😉

 

 

Baptism of fire 2. Part – Now wind really comes into play

Als kleine Belohnung für die letzten beiden anstrengenden Tage tauchte ein Pottwal direkt neben unserem Boot auf 🙂 Schon der zweite den wir treffen, Since we're on the road with the CESARINA.

All booked up

On Thursday afternoon, the phone rang at last. Our visit was on the way back and we had a good reason, Finally let off by our to-do list.

As we saw in the late evening again on the harbour promenade. Heute war ein italienischer Abend 🙂 und bei Pizza und Bier ließ es sich viel entspannter planen. Unterwegs wollten wir dann auch gleich noch ein Hotel organisieren 🙂 So gaben wir kurz in der Marina Bescheid, that the SUMMER would be on the road until Sunday night and drove to Albufeira. After several detours to almost in the old town core we headed then but for now on the way to the Marina. Here we would find probably a car park and a Café and try from there, a hotel to organize. Because a central Tourist Office, one could help further with the acquisition of hotel rooms, not exist in Albufeira.

While we wandered through the countryside, had the men out there have fun. Dietmar had left the control of Reiner and traktierte his new “Trainees” with its high demands (I know, what I'm talking about :-)). We now arrived at the port and had chosen just a restaurant, When my phone rang. Emil by the SY MIELI invited us for lunch. Than he could clairvoyance. 🙂 So saßen wir keine fünf Minuten später schon am gedeckten Tisch und wurden königlich bewirtet. A neat North wind

In the summer months North wind on the Portuguese Atlantic coast there is generally. Only in the last year, everything was different. This year was all but again as usual at his place and the North wind would give us a nice and fast ride on the Algarve according to weather forecast.

Arrived – Seven days and 864 Nautical miles

In the penultimate night at sea on the way to Porto came's unfortunately just as it was announced: namely stormy! It ended with the peace of mind. The water ran partly from the cockpit through the stairs in the boat. In addition, the water was pressed even by the force of the wave through the vents on the ceiling in the shower. The breakers have even thrown and power off the 220V. That was already a bash and we were once again very pleased, dass wir ein so stabiles Schiff besitzen 🙂 Gut, that just at this moment nobody was outside on the deck…. At least that would have been a very refreshing shower.

I was somehow quite struck that night. Undefined header, Dental- and ear pain made me tired and cranky. So Dietmar gave me night awake free today and I was allowed to have neatly shake me till sunrise in the bunk.

In the morning, six type land was in sight at last as planned. Portugal presented itself at its fresh. 16° stood on our thermometers, but it was the Sun in a cloudless sky. When we arrived in the Douro River, were many fishing boats on the way. The wind eased and relaxed we could put the buzzer in the port. Now once a proper breakfast, then a hot shower and then another well-deserved round “Mattresses Horch service” 🙂

 

 

Oops-Hopp

Since Wednesday noon, the captain is back on board and now we have the disease introduced from Germany (Cold) well in hand.

So we decided this afternoon at four o'clock, tomorrow to take the plunge on the Portuguese mainland, Since the weather during the next week should be much less favourable.
